Technology delivering real-world social value across Aotearoa New Zealand.

Technology that keeps learning within reach.

For 12 years, Greenbox has partnered with Te Kura to provide laptops to students across Aotearoa New Zealand who are unable to access traditional education.

What began as a simple conversation has grown into an established, long-running programme. Together, we help make sure students have the technology they need to stay connected with their learning, wherever they are.

A longer life for technology. A wider purpose for its use.

Established by Remarkit in 2017, Digital Wings brings together surplus business technology and community need. Its work focuses on digital access and capability, with education, employment, health and wellbeing among its intended outcomes.

Since early 2024, Greenbox has been Digital Wings’ exclusive IT asset disposition partner, connecting technology recovery with community purpose. Suitable equipment can be prepared for reuse through assessment, secure data handling, refurbishment and reimaging, with allocation and support arrangements agreed through the programme.

Where technology makes a difference

Digital equity

Access to a device is one part of inclusion. Connectivity, confidence, skills and support shape whether technology can be used effectively.

Community capability

Fit-for-purpose equipment can support the everyday work of charities, community organisations and people creating opportunities for others.

Circular technology

Responsible reuse extends the value of suitable devices and gives organisations a practical way to connect technology lifecycle decisions with community purpose.

The value is in what people can do next.

Digital Wings’ published recipient accounts describe practical benefits for learning, creative work, community connectivity and day-to-day operations.

Crescendo Trust Aotearoa

The Trust describes technology helping its team work flexibly and supporting rangatahi in creative activities.

Kickstart Upper Hutt

Its published account describes computers used daily by staff and students, reducing the need to wait for access.

Rangiwahia Environmental Arts Centre Trust

Listen first. Agree the outcome. Learn as we go.

We begin by understanding the opportunity, the intended users and the support required. Technology is considered alongside the practical arrangements needed to deliver lasting value.

  1. Clarify the purpose — Understand the priority the community has set and the outcome it is seeking.
  2. Work with partners — Listen to organisations with local knowledge and specialist expertise.
  3. Assess the pathway — Consider device suitability, security, logistics, connectivity, support and cost.
  4. Agree what is achievable — Confirm the scope, available equipment and programme arrangements.
  5. Understand what happens — Use partner feedback and reporting to understand delivery and outcomes.
  6. Adapt and strengthen — Use evidence and learning to improve the approach.

Connect your technology lifecycle with community purpose.

Organisations can discuss how suitable surplus technology, resources or expertise might contribute to an agreed initiative. We consider the equipment, the community context and the support pathway together.

Our ambition is to help ensure that the economic, environmental and social value embedded in technology is not needlessly lost.

Businesses can donate suitable surplus technology to Digital Wings through Greenbox. Speak with one of our Business Development Executives to get started.
