ICT equipment that is not managed responsibly can become e-waste once it is no longer needed. Examples of e-waste that are unnecessarily contributing to New Zealand’s landfill include computers, laptops, monitors, printers, scanners, mobile phones, multi-function devices, copiers and fax machines. 95% of these items can be recycled, however, in New Zealand, less than 20% of end of life IT equipment is recycled responsible.

This is achieved through rigorous annual third-party audits of R2V3 certified facilities, and through transparency and accountability throughout the entire reuse/recycling chain of used electronic products.
