Australia, 1 August 2023 – Greenbox Group, the Brisbane-headquartered technology asset lifecycle management company, has been named as one of The Financial Review’s “Sustainability Leaders”. Greenbox provides customers a carbon-neutral supply chain for IT equipment to reduce their carbon footprint by actively managing their environmental, social and governance obligations, and in so doing, improving their employee value proposition.

The Australian Financial Review Sustainability Leaders List, compiled in association with Boston Consulting Group, celebrates organisations that invest in sustainable innovations that generate environmental and social benefits alongside business outcomes.

Greenbox’s circular economy practices have prevented more than 66 million kilograms of CO2 from being emitted into the atmosphere and prevented more than 121,000 kilograms of toxic materials from leaching into landfills. The business is uniquely positioned to offer its customers with full cradle to grave technology lifecycle solutions. From initial asset deployments of new technologies through to end-of-life refurbishment, reuse and recycling of these assets, all of the services that Greenbox provides are certified carbon neutral.

“It’s great to be acknowledged as a Sustainability Leader by The Australian Financial Review and BCG,” said Ross Thompson, CEO of Greenbox Group. “We will continue to invest in best practice initiatives to help our customers stay on the front foot from an environmental and social impact perspective, particularly in managing scope 3 emissions impact. We have significant global growth ambitions over the next few years which includes transferring the knowledge we have gained to new regions.”

Greenbox has increased both its headcount and its revenue significantly over the last 12 months. and is forecasting similar momentum in FY24. We have five facilities operating throughout Australia and New Zealand with customers spanning corporate, government, and tertiary institutions around the world.

The company supports the Moombidary Forest Regeneration Project which provides local employment opportunities in addition to helping Traditional Custodians regain a connection to country. It has 20 ISO certifications, R2v3 certifications via Sustainable Electronics Recycling International across all its high security facilities, and it is 100% carbon neutral certified by Climate Active.

“This year’s list emphasises the maturing of ESG focused enablers and ecosystems,” said Rebecca Russell, climate and sustainability practice leader at Boston Consulting Group ANZ. “Also evident was a deliberate focus on shaping the value chains that organisations will rely on to achieve their sustainability ambitions.”
